A slitting
line machine is heavily dependent upon its basic component which is the blade.
The purpose of the slitting line is to slit/strip a sheet of metal. The more
sharp a blade of machine would be the more accurate and efficient the slitting
process would be.
Slitting line machines which are slitting multiple metals of different types from steel
to aluminium should use blade which does not lose its blade quickly. A number of blades from different metals are
available in slitting lines. The blades which are placed like scissors are
offered in multiple sizes and diameters. A diameter of a blade is which
determines its lasting-ness. Mostly the blades used are ones which are coated
with certain type of a material which can make it cut through heavy metals.
Usually
these coating comprise of Titanium Nitride (TIN), Boron Carbide (ceramic
coating) and (Titanium Carbide) TIC. The better these coatings would be the
better the blade would perform.
